Martha Spiers, LCSW, has been named the new executive director for Clackamas Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), The Founders Clinic in Oregon City.
Martha has a 30-year career working in the safety net environment to provide innovative crisis services to individuals dealing with mental health issues. She has demonstrated success in developing programs serving high-risk and disadvantaged individuals and is passionate about working with an equity lens to reduce the negative social determinants of health and barriers to medical care. She is committed to the idea that quality health care should be a basic human right.
Clackamas VIM, The Founders Clinic provides free health care for low-income, uninsured or underinsured adults in Clackamas County. Their appointment-based care and includes medical assessment, chronic disease management, lab work, prescription assistance, optometry care, wellness education and support, specialist referral, and Spanish language interpretation. Services are provided by a team of dedicated volunteer medical providers, allied health professionals and administrative staff who generously donate their time to address the health needs of our uninsured neighbors.
