People who make the best VIM volunteers are ones who feel passionate about the mission. Each clinic recruits and trains a cadre of local volunteers in a variety of roles that may include: receptionists, schedulers, greeters, pharmacy assistants, eligibility screeners, interpreters, and others. Each clinic also recruits Board Members who volunteer time, talent and treasure to set policy so the clinic not only survives, but also thrives.
Join the effort! If you live near a Volunteers in Medicine clinic, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at that location and learn more about how you can help. If there is no VIM clinic in your area, and you believe one is needed, visit Start a Clinic or contact the national office for information on how to get started.
