We are pleased to announce welcome a new Volunteers in Medicine clinic to our alliance. The Student Outreach to the Area Residents SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic recently opened its door to serve a medical need in Portage County.
The clinic, operated in partnership with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), provides high quality, non-emergent, no-cost health care to the medically underserved residents of Northeast Ohio. The free clinic is run by a dedicated group of NEOMED medicine and pharmacy students, and is overseen by a trained family physician.
The clinic provides primary care, chronic disease management, physical exam, basic labs and prescription medications to qualified patients. Appointments are recommended with walk-in accepted on primary care dates.
SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic is a 2016 recipient of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Family Medicine Cares USA new clinic grant.
