The Volunteers in Medicine clinic in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, has expanded its services.  Thanks to a generous annual commitment from a private family foundation, a second Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) clinic has opened in Egg Harbor Township. Serving as a vital safety net for the underserved in Cape May and Atlantic counties, these clinics are the Volunteers in Medicine Free Clinics of South Jersey.

Volunteers in Medicine’s focus is on primary health care, emphasizing disease prevention, health promotion, and patient education in an easily accessible facility with the same dignity and confidentiality afforded in the private sector.

Patients receive free, quality primary care, and specialist care when available. Perhaps more importantly, Volunteers in Medicine becomes their advocate to ensure continuity of care.

There is a spirit at Volunteers in Medicine that I have only felt at other VIM clinics. We are all connected by a cause and a belief that no one should have to do without basic health care and that a little effort by each of us can make the world a better place for so many. The patients are so grateful for our time and caring, and many of them are so much better because of what we can do. Our team members are just the best people in the world.  Working with the other volunteers is an extraordinary privilege and joy.
