VIMX 2020 has been postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The conference has been re-scheduled for April 15-17, 2021. 

 

 

Volunteers in Medicine America cordially invites you to attend VIMX 2020, the biennial national conference of Volunteers in Medicine clinics, clinics in development, national partners, and suppliers. The meeting will take place April 2-4, 2020 in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida at the Omni Jacksonville Hotel. This is the premier gathering for the Volunteers in Medicine America network.

 

Program – Our theme is “Charting Course for a New Decade”.  We will be focusing on innovation, capacity building, and adaptation to the changing healthcare environment. Each of our outstanding plenary speakers will be addressing forward-thinking topics.

 

VIMX 2020 will also include 15 breakout presentations covering a wide array of organizational, operational, and finance-related issues.  A sampling of some of the topics includes:

Pre-Conference Learning Lab on Earned Income – Presented by expert consultants Larry Clark and Michael Oxman from No Margin, No Mission, this half-day learning lab from 10:00am – 1:30pm on Thursday, April 2nd will explore “thrivability” through the basics of earned income during a highly engaging, interactive, and informative session. Participants will gain insight into earned income through understanding its most fundamental principles in addition to its unique value and benefits. The session will also include a variety of compelling examples, interactive exercises, and suggested action steps to pursue the topic further. The cost for this learning lab is $50, and lunch is included. Pre-registration is required at VIMX 2020 Registration.

 

Conference Registration – Those planning to attend VIMX 2020 must register in advance and remit their registration fee in order to reserve their spot. Use the registration link below to register each person attending from your organization. The deadline for registering is 5:00pm EST on March 26, 2020. Registration fees cover conference expenses including meals, audio-visual equipment, speaker fees, meeting room rental, and materials. The conference fee schedule is as follows:

          • $250 Volunteers in Medicine clinic representatives; VIM America Board members
          • $150 Volunteers in Medicine developing site representatives
          • $350 Non-affiliated organization representatives

A limited number of scholarships will be made available to cover the conference registration fee only. Priority for these will be given to Volunteers in Medicine clinic representatives. To qualify, please complete the Scholarship Request Form

Full refunds will be provided if a cancellation in writing is received by 5:00 pm EST on March 26, 2020. Hotel contract provisions prevent us from granting refunds after that time.

Evening Sunset Cruise –  On Thursday, April 2nd, the opening night of VIMX 2020, attendees will enjoy a sunset cruise on the St. Johns River, compliments of James Burt, MD, co-founder of Volunteers in Medicine Jacksonville. It will be a beautiful way to relax, network with your colleagues, and enjoy beautiful Jacksonville.

 

Jacksonville Symphony – A performance of Copland’s Great American Symphony will take place at the Jacksonville Symphony on April 3rd or 4th. Both shows are at 8:00 pm.
